Yaroslavl is the first Russian city on the Volga River. It was founded by Prince Yaroslav the Wise in 1010.

One of the most beautiful Russian cities, Yaroslavl is sometimes called “Northern Florence” and “Pearl of the Volga”. It is included in the list of UNESCO cultural heritage sites. Even those who have never been here can recognize the image of our city: it is depicted in the famous paintings, filmed in lots of movies, imprinted on Russian thousand-ruble banknote.

Yaroslavl is an ancient forward-looking city. On its squares and streets we can find evidence of historical events from 1000 years ago and facts of the recent history. One of the most important part of Volga-Baltic waterway of IX-XI c., the first Russian educational institution, the capital of Russia during the Time of Troubles and the home of the first Russian theatre, the first tires, the only one in the world fifteen-head church and the homeland of the first woman cosmonaut, the biggest landscape type zoo and one of the best hockey teams – welcome to Yaroslavl.

It is the capital of the famous tourist route “Golden Ring”. Geographical proximity to Moscow and convenient traffic to Saint-Petersburg, great amount of tourist destinations, such as: “The Most Beautiful Russian Village-2015”, Vyatskoye, State Literature and Memorial Museum-Reservation of Nikolay Nekrasov “Karabikha”, Ponizovkina Castle, ancient Russian towns: Rostov, Uglich, Pereslavl, Rybinsk, Tutaev and Myshkin – all of that makes our city even more attractive to tourists.
